Budget Hotels Travel Guide

Travelling cheaply is a matter of making the right choices for your budget. it is not difficult to overshoot your travel budget; one wrong choice and you can spend much more than you originally intended to!

There are a number of creative solutions today such as couch-surfing, which can practically cut down your costs of accommodation to zero. The idea behind couch-surfing is that you join an online community of people open to the idea of having people from different cultures to stay on their couch and perhaps doing the same.

Travelling in Australia

The only thing better than actually travelling, is getting to look back over the photos you took of your adventure, and being able to tell people that you have had some awesome adventure. It has always been my dream to travel to and see as many places as I could.

I've been to a couple of countries in Europe which were fantastic and filled with so much beauty and history. I still need to go to South America and travel through some part of Asia but one of the best trips I have had was my travel in Australia.

In my imagination, before I even really thought of going to Australia, I always had the postcard images of Australia in my head. A postcard of the Sydney Opera House, a postcard of the Great Barrier Reef or a postcard or Ayers Rock - all of these images came to mind when I thought of Australia. (more...)

Imagining Travel Adventures

No matter where we are from, there are a number of things that we all have in common. We all have noses, hair, eyes and legs. We share the same physical bodies but we also share some of the same experiences. No matter where you are from in the world, we have all had or are still having that moment where you are distracted from what you're doing.

You're distracted from your homework, paperwork and shopping by the thought of travelling to some far off place. The image of a school child looking longingly out of the window reminds us not of school but of that feeling of wanting to be elsewhere, of wanting an adventure.

I am sure that the imagined adventure that you daydreamed of was as romantic as can be. Thinking not about bedbugs in crummy hotels, but about the thrill of travelling and of seeing a world that is different and strange from the small classroom where you first imagined your adventure. (more...)

Losing Connectivity While Travelling

Gone are the days when we had to use payphones to call home while travelling. Today, there is really no reason to lose connectivity while travelling. Of course, this does not mean that we pay hefty phone bills by using international roaming facilities. There are better options!

What you ideally need while travelling is a phone that has a local number and can make and receive international calls and texts. The phone can be any phone you like, and if you want, you should be able to add a data service to your contract.

What you essentially need while travelling is a sim only contract which allows you to use your own handset and get a local sim. There are cheap sim only contracts which can be perfect for maintaining connectivity while keeping your holiday budget down. (more...)

Trendy New Mediterranean Destinations

We already know how popular holidays like Italy Villas, French gites or Spanish casas are with the tourist masses, but there are actually a number of Mediterranean countries that are now considered to be very up and coming where this industry is concerned.

Of course, countries like Italy, Spain and Greece will always have that unbeatable charm and pull to tourists, but there is nothing stopping you from pondering over a couple of other ideas in this part of the world.

Croatia was immensely popular up until the early 90s. Yugoslavia, as it was then known, was easily one of the most popular Mediterranean destinations and welcomed many millions of visitors every year. Alas, this all came to a very abrupt end when the war broke out in this area. (more...)

Getting Out and Enjoying the Sights in Australia

Australia is a remarkable place. The geography and biology point to a place that is so unique and wonderful that it must be visited. There is much to do, and most of it is outdoors, taking advantage of the most beautiful countries in the world.

What is or what does it mean to be in a country where you hear the words totally Australia? Visiting Australia doesn't require a sense of adventure, but you're likely to pick one up while you're there. Getting outside and seeing something unique and special is not hard to do. For those taking it easy, Australia's various wine countries should be on the agenda, who said adventure had to be hard work?

One of the most amazing sights to see is Uluru, previous known as Ayers Rock. There is something spectacular about both the rock itself and the setting it is in. Visiting at sunset is truly spectacular, as the vivid desert sunset colours in the sky provide an extraordinary contrast, and make for a magical scene. (more...)

Choose Australia for the Holiday of a Lifetime

When we think of holidays, for many of us the first image that springs to mind is lazing on a sunny beach or by the pool, but others, especially the younger set, are choosing more active, adventurous holidays, in places that haven't as yet been over run by tourists.

You don't have to go to the Amazon jungle for adventure, spectacle and excitement, because Australia is the ideal for those seeking some fun and adventurous outdoor activity. Australia is such a large continent with vastly differing regions in terms of climate, landscape, and culture, that there is a wealth of choice for the adventurous traveller seeking both sights to see and things to do. Just make sure you have adequate travel insurance before you set off in case you have the sudden urge to go bungee jumping in the Cairns (situated in the tropical forests of Queensland).

A good company like CoverMore Travel Insurance can arrange a suitable policy to give you peace of mind. (more...)

Get ideas on how to decorate your home or office when on a holiday

When travelers go on a holiday, they will more than likely be staying in an apartment, hotel, or bed and breakfast. In the room, there will be a few pieces of furniture. In a four-star facility, the furniture has been kept up. Also, the pieces are comfortable to sit in. The traveler may not be able to find out what vendor the hotel got their furniture from, but he or she can buy similar pieces for his or her home or office.

Designer office chairs are of the pieces you will find in your hotel room. Travelers may notice how comfortable the chairs are. In fact, when sitting to a desk, your back and neck are supported. A traveler who has a home office may want to buy a similar chair. In order to make sure you get a replica of the chair, you can go on the Internet while on your holiday to see if you can find pictures of the same chair. Most apartments and hotels offer a Wi-Fi connection. All the traveler needs to do is bring his or her laptop computer.

Designer office chairs may be expensive because they are made with high quality material. A person may be able to find a refurbished office chair that will work just as well as a brand new one. Consider asking the owner of the place that you are staying at if they have any office chairs that they don't want. Make sure the chairs are still in good condition. Contact a shipping company that will pick up and deliver the chairs to where you want them to go. (more...)

Will Your Next Travel Destination Be Australia?

When your destination is Australia, you will have many exciting adventures ahead of you and new places to explore. Sydney and Melbourne are among the top 10 favourite cities of international travellers, and the country is renowned for its shopping, gorgeous beaches, award-winning wines, and fine dining options. Major tourist attractions include both natural and man-made wonders such as the Great Barrier Reef and the Sydney Opera House. Australian animals are recognizable world wide, from the cuddly koala to the bouncing kangaroo and little fairy penguins.

The beauty of this one-of-a-kind country makes it ideal for a road trip. The Great Ocean Road may well be one of the most scenic drives in the world. While it can be completed in a single day, give yourself a full two days to drive it so that you will have more time to stop and enjoy all the sights along the way. From Shipwreck Coast and the 12 Apostles to historic Port Fairy and picturesque Appolo Bay, the Great Ocean Road is perfect for sightseeing, stopping for a stroll along the coast, or simply enjoying a leisurely picnic lunch.

Kakadu National Park is another area of the country well worth seeing. Extraordinarily diverse both ecologically and biologically, it is known for its sandstone cliffs, tidal plains, and wooded lowlands. Dozens of species of plants and animals are only found in the nearly 20,000 kilometres of land here. Kakadu itself is known to be the oldest known occupied land in Australia and is one of the most significant sites for rock art. Today the Aboriginal people jointly manage the national park and continue to live throughout the region. (more...)
